Before I started dating my husband Benji, his skincare routine consisted of washing his face in the shower and applying sunscreen when he was already burnt. Many men are willing to do whatever it takes to diminish lines and soften their rough spots but don’t really know where to start. While products geared towards women will work just fine, there are many great men’s products that target specific areas specialized for a man’s thicker and (usually) rougher skin. I’m listing some basics that won’t break the bank, and their clear, soft skin will thank you!
Cleansers – Invest in a decent cleanser. Any soap that touches your privates in the shower should never touch your face. (As if we should even have to say this.) I recommend a Clarisonic. Benji was skeptical about using a face brush until he tried it. He definitely noticed a difference in his skin and I’ve noticed it’s smoother and clearer.
Toner – Swiping a little on the skin after cleaning will help remove excess dirt and oil, as well as even out skin tone.
Moisturizer – Dry skin be gone! Adding a moisturizer (with SPF for an added bonus) is something all guys should be using.
Eye Cream – Now I know a lot of guys would groan at this one, but it really will make their peepers happy. The skin around the eyes is so delicate and and as those crows feet sneak in, a good eye cream will moisturize and smooth the area.
