SUMMER DRUGSTORE FAVES

The amount of money I could spend at CVS is sort of appalling.  I always seem to “need” another lip balm, a new mascara, and more body lotion.  While my list of drugstore faves is pretty extensive, here are a few that are perfect (and cheap!) to try this summer.

Maybelline Baby Lips Moisturizing Balm is truly one of those things I can’t live without.  It’s the adult version of Lip Smackers Dr. Pepper Lip Balm (which I still proudly use). It comes in a multitude of flattering, sheer shades, and is the perfect hybrid of balm and color.  And at about $4, it’s cheap enough to own them all!

Dr. Bronner’s Hemp Pure-Castile Peppermint Soap is a staple in my house.  It smells great, cleans everything, and the peppermint is cooling on those super warm days. The added bonus is that it comes in a small travel size that is great for summer getaways.

I never used to wear full foundation until I found Maybelline’s Dream Liquid Mousse Foundation.  It’s super light, goes great over sunscreen, and has a slight powder finish.  It gives my skin just enough coverage without looking too made up and comes in a wide range of colors, making it easy to find your perfect shade.

I don’t usually wear waterproof mascara, but sometimes it’s a must.  L’Oreal Voluminous Waterproof Mascara is ultra black, and gives you long, thick lashes that won’t flake.

Yes to Cucumbers Facial Towelettes are soft and soothing.  They remove makeup and refresh your skin after a day in the sun. These keep popping up in my posts because I consistently use them and haven’t found anything else that I like quite as much for the price and accessibility.

Not that I’ve had the time to blow dry my hair lately, but hot summer months definitely reinforce those air-drying days.  L’Oreal Curve It Curl Taming Cream makes my hair soft and tames frizz, while defining my naturally wavy strands. Plus it doesn’t leave your hair crunchy or sticky, which are 2 major “ick” factors in my book.
