Summer is around the corner. Woot! I love a good pool party but looking good in the heat can be a challenge. While I’m a fan of dewy, bronzed skin, I’m not so keen on the slip and slide that can become my face in the heat (gross). Here are some tips and tricks to keep your makeup from sliding down to your belly button.
1. Use a primer
Primer is good all the time, but in the hot summer months, it’s a must. Apply some after sunscreen and/or moisturizer to help keep your makeup in place for longer.

I know. Duh…deodorant. Obviously you’re using the stuff under your arms (and if you’re not, then you probably should), but if your’e really worried about sweating, putting a little on your face can do the trick. Sounds kinda weird and gross, but just dab some on your fingers and put it on the areas you sweat the most like the upper lip and hairline.
3. Keep it simple
Wearing a ton of makeup in the heat isn’t going to do you any favors. Instead of heavy powders that will sit on top of your skin and slide off in the heat, opt for creamier products and cover just what you need to. Embrace a dewey complexion and ward off extra shine with blotting papers.
4. Waterproof your eyes
Nothing is worse then raccoon eyes from your eye makeup running all over the place. Keep it in place by using a waterproof eyeliner and mascara.

Using a makeup sealer is great for day to night events like weddings when you may not have a chance to do much of a touchup. Just spritz a little bit over your face to help seal it all in.
