I recently changed up my makeup routine, switching out my colored powder for a super thin foundation and a colorless setting powder. I don’t mind a little sheen in the right places, but I need something to keep my t-zone matte. Laura Mercier makes a few cult classics, one being the Loose Setting Powder. I decided to try a compact version and went for the Smooth Focus Pressed Setting Powder. It’s designed specifically for shine control and it definitely delivers. The velvety fine powder actually makes my skin look smoother (hence the name), and doesn’t make it ashy like some white powders can. I prefer to use a medium sized brush to apply (rather then the sponge it comes with), because it picks up less product and diffuses better. It’s perfect for everyday and the compact makes it easy to toss in your bag.
