Glitter seems to be popping up this season and can be seen at a few Spring/Summer 2014 runway shows like Chanel and ICB by Prabal Gurung.  My 16 year-old self is ecstatic! Now that I’m…cough…twice as old, I tend to shelve the sparkles unless it’s for a halloween costume or New Year’s Eve party (and then watch out!).  But there are some grownup products that will add sparkle to your makeup without looking like you’re going to junior prom.  Maybe just don’t wear them all at once.  Unless you’re on the Ke$ha world tour.  Then go nuts.

• A little goes a long way.  Opt for a thin line of sparkles along the top or bottom lashes or add some to the inner corners of your eyes.
• Pile on the mascara to contrast a bright sparkle and/or add a matt black liner.
• Choose one area like your eyes or lips and keep the rest of your makeup simple.
• Place a tissue under your eyes to keep loose glitter from getting everywhere and apply with a q-tip so you don’t have to be picking glitter out of your brushes a year from now.
